Sassy & Sophisticated Squarespace Website Design For A Beauty Salon
I design lots of different websites, but a theme this year has been websites for beauty salons!
Not only am I designing a brand new website as we speak for a beauty salon in downtown Chicago, but I just finished a separate beauty salon site last month.
It was fun to design with hot pink and black and learn the fine details of procedures I—as a natural blonde with fair lashes and brows—wouldn’t even know existed otherwise!

Homepage slideshow
When a client has strong images, I prefer to open websites with a large slideshow intro on the homepage. This doesn’t fit for all brands, but for visual brands, I think it’s the best greeting for new visitors to the site. (You can see more examples of homepage intro slideshows here and here). So I did just that with an opening slideshow for Lash + Brow, to get visitors inspired about enhancing their own features through Lash + Brow’s services.
Custom Fonts
My client had a branding guide which included specific fonts that Squarespace doesn’t offer.
No problem! I found these particular fonts online, uploaded them to the site, and custom coded the H1, H2, and H3 formats to reflect these fonts so the client’s site would reflect their branding.
Custom Graphics
I created custom graphics for both foreground images and background banner images to make for higher visual impact during parallax scrolling.
We all have our opinions, and I personally really enjoy parallax. So I usually incorporate this into the sites I design unless the client specifically does not want it.
Using the client’s images they provided, I design some photo collages which are simply more interesting for a viewer than standalone images.
Built-in SEO
As a Squarespace SEO expert, the sites I design for clients need to perform. I take this aspect of the project very seriously.
As with all my sites, expert SEO techniques are built-in to Lash+Brow’s site as well. And guess what?! Already, just one and a half months after launching, this site is already ranking on Google Page 1 for the target keyword best eyebrows fort worth.
In another month or two we should start seeing more and more Page 1 rankings come in. Definitely the most satisfying part of my work.
